tomorrow is the anzac day public holiday here in oz.

at work, there was a major systems upgrade done over the weekend, to transfer a product over from an old system to the current one that we use. this meant that that our systems would be unavailable today but open for business tomorrow.

the options were to have today off and work tomorrow, getting paid 'time & a half' or work today (testing our current system to make sure nothing went wrong with the upgrade) and have a normal public holiday tomorrow.

i chose the latter. i have worked public holidays before and it is awful, the buses run on sunday timetables, nowhere to get a decent coffee and your choice for lunch is pretty much mcdonalds or mcdonalds.

i had a lovely, quiet day with a 10.00am start as the testing did no start until 11.30ish, giving me time to prepare what i would test. got lots of work done and the testing was good - no major problems. best of all, i got an early mark. i didn't have a lunchbreak as i had a snack at about 11.45 and when it was decided that the testing was a sucess, we were allowed to go home :) i was outta there at 4.45pm.

...and i can turn off the alarm and sleep until i wake up tomorrow :)

(blogger had her knickers in a twist last night and would not post this for me. let's see if she's in a better mood now...)
