april showers
i got home tonight just after 7pm. i did my usual faffing about, heated a tin of soup for one and cooked a crumpet for my dinner (a step up from cereal and cheese), got on the net, the usual.at 9.30ish i remembered to check my voice messages. there was a message from kls, the person i have known longest in my life, apart from my own family. heck, she IS family. we became friends in 1st grade. we grew up together. i think i may have spent more time with her family than i did with my own. her brothers were the brothers i never had. her parents treated me as one of their own. she'd called to tell that her dad died last friday.
i called her back straight away and we laughed and cried and reminisced. i've not seen her for close to ten years, we talk once or twice a year but as always, it was like we only spoke yesterday.

That has to be hard when that happens, so far I have been lucky, but my friend Angie is experiencing that now. She is lucky to have you for a pal.
I'm sorry to hear about your friend's father.
You must be like a sister to her too and you are there for her which must be special for the both of you.
Some bonds are thicker than blood.
I am sorry about your friend's father too. She is lucky to have you.
Take care.
*hugs*
Sorry to hear about your friend's loss, and your own as well.
