Butter?
you're probably wondering why have i posted a picture of a tub of butter? part of the new me involves joining weight watchers. they have an 'at work' program; the meetings are held during working hours and we get a reduced rate that is deducted from our pay. after two weeks, i have lost 2.5kg (5.5lbs in the old currency). this equates to 5 of these tubs of butter. i've not really noticed the loss yet but it shows on the scales. the exercise bike that i bought in november last year has had more action in the last two weeks than it has had since i bought it. i've got an awful long way to go but i'm a determined bugger when i put my mind to it. don't expect an ongoing update on this as it's not going to be the sole focus of my life but i do promise to update on the milestones.
while searching back through 3rd daughter to find out when i bought the bike, i found this and think it deserves it's third outing. it will help me to remember this pearl of wisdom...
One evening an old Cherokee Indian told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between 2 'wolves' inside us all.
One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather "Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee replied simply, "The one you feed."
p.s. if anybody finds those 2.5kg, you can keep them :)

i'm so proud of you! 5lbs is a big deal! i'm jealous too, i just can't seem to drop a pound. weight watchers ar work sounds like a GREAT IDEA! is that something your company did or you found independantly?
Well done you!
I too am trying to lose a little bit of weight.
Not trying very hard though. I don't weigh myself, and my diet doesn't seem to have changed.
One less drink a day though, I'm sure it'll make the world of difference.
thanks clara and starbuck.
clara, it is something my employer instigated, they are very big on employee health and happiness :)
thanks for the update. i am very proud of you, congratulations on the weight loss. i joined 'curves' in the building not far from my job. i work out three times a week, and i've been watching what i eat, with the help of k, i have started to feel better already. i have only just begun the workouts, i did my 4th time today. every other morning before i go to work. i have 65 pounds (at least) to lose. thanks for the inspiration. take care, and i will be back. poet
Glad to hear you are moving orwards on your journey. Sorry I haven't been around much lately... near death experiences will do that to you! heh heh

Yeah!!! Way to go. It is so hard to lose and so easy to put it on. I, too, am trying to lose.
Good on you and good luck with it. I am trying to stay fit and it is hard to stay focused.
